SUGGESTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

9. Rethinking about No-Detention Policy: The No-Detention
Policy introduced under NEP 2020 has played a role in
reducing dropout rates, but its implementation has presented
significant challenges, particularly in rural areas like District
Budgam. Despite its intent, issues such, irregular attendance,
and low punctuality remain prevalent and require immediate
attention. It is recommended that the Central Government
      consider scrapping the No-Detention Policy.

10. Establishing a Robust Framework for Technology use
in education under NEP 2020: As per the NEP 2020, the
integration of technology, particularly mobile phones, in
the teaching-learning process holds immense potential for
enhancing educational outcomes. However, to safeguard
students, especially at the foundational level, from the risks
of technology addiction, there is a pressing need for a robust
framework. This framework must ensure the regulated and
purposeful use of technology in education, promote age-
appropriate digital exposure, and foster a balanced approach
that combines digital learning with traditional methods and
      holistic development activities.

11. Issue with Smart Boards and case of Faulty and Missing
Smart Boards needs to be addressed: In many schools, either
smart boards are missing or, if available, they are not installed
High School Bonin. In some cases, a simple whiteboard is
provided under the guise of a smart board. For instance, at
High School TF Shah, this issue has been observed. Proper
provision, installation, and utilization of smart boards need
to be ensured to enhance the teaching-learning process. This
issue may require an investigation at vigilance level.
