ABOUT THE

      AUTHOR

Dr. Amarpreet Kour is an educationist,
researcher, and filmmaker, currently
serving as a Lecturer in Botany at the
State Council of Educational Research
and Training (SCERT), J&K, Kashmir
Division. She is the State Coordinator of
DIKSHA/NISHTHA for Kashmir Division
and has held key roles, including Associate
Coordinator-KD in the School Leadership
Academy and Member of the Teacher
Training Action Plan (TTAP) Research
Committee. She is also a Member of the
Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)
for Prevention of Sexual Harassment in
SCERT and associated DIETs of J&K,
contributing significantly to teacher
education and policy implementation.

Her academic pursuits extend to botany,
where she has collaborated with the
Botanical Survey of India, making
groundbreaking discoveries in bryophyte
diversity. She has extensively documented
the bryophyte flora of District Budgam,
uncovering several previously unreported
species and contributing valuable insights
to botanical research. Her research on
medicinal plants has led to the development
of a comprehensive database detailing
plant species with potential applications in
cancer treatment.

Dr. Kour is also passionate about storytelling
and has explored filmmaking, producing
documentaries on the National Education
Policy 2020 and its impact on Kashmir’s
education system. Her dedication to
education, research, and digital innovation
makes her a leading voice in the region’s
educational transformation.
